wedding limo pick up for bridal party

I am a little confused about how the limo situation is usually handled. This is my situation:

My Bridesmaids, my mother and I are getting ready at my parent's house which is about a 5-8 minute ride to the church. The ceremony should last around 30 - 45 minutes and then we would need about the same time after for pictures with the bridal party and family. Then we would be off to the reception which is about a 15 - 20 minute ride from the church. The reception will last about 6 hours until about midnight (that is how late the bar will stay open until). Then the groom and I will need a ride to the airport hotel which is a 30 - 45 minute ride. So, we would basically need a ride from 3pm - 12:45am.

Are you supposed to have the limo pick up the bridal party and myself at my parent's house? Is that the starting point? I am confused about how long I need to book a limo for. Would we need a limo for the entire length of the ceremony to the reception to the hotel? What is the usual way this is handled?

Re: [erin28] Usual travel [In reply to]

Wedding packages are usually quoted at a package price based on 3 hours. I would suggest contacting companies w/a anticipation of booking from 2:30 - 5:30 and also request a pickup at 12:30am.

Most will honor this type of arrangement with a modified package price. Package + Transfer = Total Cost.

A few companies will try to have you book it for 7 hours straight which isn't really cost effective. The majority of them will work with you if you aren't picky about the transfer vehicle. If you want a stretch hummer for the transfer, they might insist a straight 7 hour rate. If a sedan is ok, most companies will run this split.

Approach the services with what I describe above and you should be OK.

Congratulations!
