     2nd wedding -bridesmaid dresses

My friend of 20+ years is getting married for the 2nd time. The first wedding was ~4 years ago. She had not set a date for 2007...until she found out she was pregnant. She is now in a rush and is having the wedding in 5 weeks (before it was going to be July-Sept). I have not had time to 1)save money or 2)lose enough weight to feel comfortable walking around in a dress. Should bridesmaids have to purchase a second dress in excess of $150 (when we've not even worn the 1st one again). Should I decline being in the wedding?

Dear Kmyers,

You are only expected to buy one dress. Perhaps she will have a very informal wedding and not require the traditional bridesmaids dresses.

Best wishes,
