My brother is getting married in March 2008. The attire that has been chosen for the ladies and girls is strapless or sleeveless. While I don't have a problem with the actual dresses themselves, I do have issue with us being in those dresses during that time of year outside in Colorado. I have been told there will be no shawls or gloves, just the dresses and open-toed heels.
Is there a way to approach my sister-in-law to be and request that we have something?
As an aside, all 3 of my daughters will also be in the wedding party, so I am not thinking about just me. I don't think anyone wants to deal with miserable children.

You haven't mentioned the ages of the children but if they are young then strapless dresses are inappropriate for them. Speak honestly with the bride and let her know about your apprehensions and specific concerns. Hopefully she will be understanding. The girls are 8.5, 7 and 5. Their dresses are sleeveless.
The problem is the bride has no opinion, so my mother(MOG) is running the show. If it was just me, I would endure the cold. The girls are going to be miserable, even if the day is sunny it will maybe be 45 degrees.

Tell the bride that you'll bring coats for the girls. Maybe that will get her moving. If not, bring the coats and let them wear them. If the bride doesn't care then don't worry about it. Top Wedding Questions Forum Moderator - "Write your sorrows in the sand, your blessings in stone".
