Bride wants family members to wear matching dresses
My sister in law is getting married and there are a lot of us. She has decided just to have her best friend be a maid of honor and not to have bridesmaids. However, she has been sending us to sites where she has asked us to select matching dresses. She wants us all to match as family of the bride, but we are not bridesmaids. How obligated am I to buy the dresses and sashes if I am not actually a part of the wedding?

Dear Smfinna,
I think she is confused. The family doesn't dress the same as each other unless they are attendants. You are not obligated to purchase a dress.
