Bridesmaid Cannot Attend Wedding - What to do about the dress.

Hello. I was supposed to be a bridesmaid in my cousin's wedding. About 2 weeks ago I fell and broke my foot. Under no circumstances am I supposed to put weight on my foot. I have already paid for my bridesmaid's dress. My cousin said she could have her sisiter fill in my spot, but her sister could not afford to buy the dress from me. What am I supposed to do? I feel like I have been put in a bad spot. The wedding is soon. Please help!

Dear Rachelbodnar,

You are under no obligation to give the dress away, because it is yours. But, you could. It is your choice. You could also participate by using a wheelchair. It happens all the time.

Best wishes,

Oh, what a shame.

I agree with Rebecca. But, if you're not going to use the dress anyway and you already bought it, why not be a friend and let the sister use the dress for the day? She can give it back after the wedding and you can either alter it for regular use or sell it on Ebay.

Hope you're feeling better very soon.
