Can't find bridesmaids dresses that don't overpower the bride

In my wedding, I'm going to be wearing my future mother-in-law's (now vintage)dress. It's very simple and elegant, taylored, ecru, empire waist and off the shoulder with a train. I'm planning on going with a custom tiara/veil very narrow and long (almost grecian in style) The dress is very subtle, and every bridesmaid dess I look at is too flashy and "modern" I think. I want my bridesmaids to like their dresses, and feel beautiful in them, but I don't want the styles to clash, if that makes sense. I considered going with black dresses, but am really stumped as far as which direction to go. The wedding is indoors in march, probably going to be late afternoon or evening. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Dear Trinkets,

I'm not the fashion expert here by far, but I have noticed that many dresses are now empire waist. So, it seems that you may be able to find black dresses with empire waist and very simple in design. It seems that this style never completely goes out of style. So, your ladies may get some mileage from them.

Best wishes,
