Colours for Fall Wedding Bridesmaids Dresses

I am looking for some colour ideas for my bridesmaid dresses. I am getting married in September so it will be a fall wedding. My 3 top colours are red, purple and brown.

Do red and brown compliment each other? If so, which shades look best together; dark rep/chocolate, mocha?

Thank You,
Rhonda

Dear Rhonda,

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! The most popular colors to use with brown/chocolate brown/mocha are burnt orange and purple/fuchia. Dark red might not stand out well enough against the brown. However, it can be used in the bouquets, when mixed with the other colors you mentioned. The best dress color choice for the bridesmaids would be either chocolate brown or mocha. When my clients who have Fall weddings bring me the swatches and photos of their bridesmaids' dresses, I often see a sash in contrasting color, such as either burnt orange/champagne (if you go for a warm color combination) or Tiffany blue (if you go more for a cool color combination). Good luck with your selections and enjoy the wedding!
