Different dress color for the Jr. bridesmaid

My fiance I are getting married on September. My dilemma is that one of my original bridesmaids dropped out a few weeks ago, so I decided that my 12 yr old daughter will stand in. I can't seem to find a dress the same color as the other bridesmaids and MOH (they are all wearing the same lavender dress) My colors are lavender and red. My stepmother said it is okay for my daughter to wear the red even though my bridesmaids and maid of honor are wearing the lavender. Is it okay for the jr. bridesmaid to wear a different color than the bridesmaids?

If you can't find lavender color dress, your daughter can wear red with lavender accents: lavender color sash or trim. That can be easily added to the dress. Or, she can wear any light color that corrresponds with other colors, if she has that lavender color sash or trim + shoes. The lavender accent, added to any dress, will bring all the wedding colors together! Enjoy the wedding!

I agree that she can wear a slightly different and age appropriate dress. Also, there really was no reason to replace the bridesmaid. The bride and groom's sides do not have to be equal.

yeah i agree that the sides don't have to match but to look in those eyes when she found out that the other one dropped out and said "so now i can be a bridesmaid?" I melted and gave in.
