I have recently gotten a pair of shoes for a wedding, and they were dyed black. I've been wearing them around the house to break them in, but every time I wear them, dye rubs off the shoes onto my feet, and stains them. It takes quiet a bit of scrubbing, and the marks usually disappear within a day or two, but it drives me nuts.
I've thought about taking a damp cloth and rubbing it over the shoe, in an effort to remove any excess dye... but I'm leary about doing so because I don't want to ruin the shoe. However, I don't like wearing them knowing that they leave streaks on my feet.
Any suggestions on how to go about solving this problem without ruining the shoes?
(The dress are tea-lenth, and the shoes are open toe. Nylons are not "allowed", and if I take my shoes off during the reception, people would see the stains.)
Thank you!

Well, you really shouldn't be removing your shoes at the wedding.
But, if the shoes are dyed properly the color should not bleed. I would take them back to the shop. Top Wedding Questions Forum Moderator - "Write your sorrows in the sand, your blessings in stone".
