     Formality of Bridesmaid dresses

My daughter will be getting married June 2 at 6:30 PM. She is wearing a very formal vintage gown worn by my mother, my sister and myself. The wedding will be in our church, the groomsmen will be wearing tuxedos. The question is this: my daughter does not want to consider floor length gowns for the bridesmaids, she is stuck on tea length because she thinks the bridesmaids will be more apt to wear them again later. I think they will not be formal enough. If they wear tea length, will the groom's mother and I also need to choose tea length?

Dear Paigesmom,

Typically the mothers would wear the same length, but as long as the formality is the same, you should be fine. There are some formal tea length dresses. She may be able to find some in very formal material that will be perfect.

Best wishes,
