I am a bridesmaid in my friends wedding next year. The bride, maid of honor and all the bridesmaids have been looking for bridesmaids dresses for a while now. We have found several gorgeous dresses that I think most, if not all, the bridesmaids have agreed on. However, when the bride shows the groom the dress, he says he doesn't like it or finds something he dislikes about it and then we are back at square one.
Is it normal, or appropriate, for the groom to have that much input on what the bridesmaids are wearing??
I have to say that I have not heard of any groom wanting to be involved in the bridesmaids' dress selection - most don't care. That said it is up to the bride to make the selection. Of course she should consider the feelings of the bridesmaids since they will be paying for and wearing the clothing. Perhaps you could gently suggest that she keep all of the attire a secret as a surprise for the groom - or, at the very least, just choose what she deems best and do the "don;t ask, don;t tell" thing!
