Length of bridesmaid dresses for daytime wedding

Hi,

I am helping my sister plan her wedding and she is not sure if the bridesmaid's dresses should be short or long since the wedding is during the day at 1 PM. Is there any specific rules on the length of the bridesmaids' dresses when we are having a daytime wedding?

Thank you!

The length of the dress is dictated more by the formality of the wedding than the time of day. If it is a formal daytime wedding the dresses would be long. If it is semiformal it can be either long or short according to the bride's desire.
