Matching color and length of bridesmaid dresses to bride's gown.
Hi, I'm planning my wedding for August. I already have my dress. It is a floor length, strapless, organza A-line dress with satin draping and beaded Pink metallic embroidery. I was thinking about a pearl pink for my bridesmaids dress, so it would somewhat match. Is that too much?
Then, I was thinking since it will be August, that tea length dresses might be cooler for my girls. Would that be inappropriate for their dresses to be short while mine isn't?
Also, if it would be ok to have tea length dresses, I found this beautiful dress, but it only comes in burnt orange, a blue color jade (which I thought should be green) and a light brown. Would any of those be appropriate? If so, what color flowers would accent them nicely?
Sorry for so many questions...I'm just clueless!

The information really needed is the time and formality of the wedding. If the wedding is Formal day or evening; knee length would not be appropriate. Nancy Tucker President of Weddings Beautiful US http://www.weddingsbeautiful.com

I would have to say that I'm planning for an informal wedding. The time will be either 2 PM or 6 PM.

Tea length would be perfect for an informal day time wedding. The real problem is that your dress seems too formal for an informal wedding.
Your dress and your attendants' should be in the same formality. Theirs can be shorter than yours, but in the same formality. Plus, all of the dresses should match the formality of the event.
Most likely the green would be the best choice for this time of year. I'm not sure about the flowers though. A florist would be your best bet. Choose something in season--it will be less expensive. Rebecca Black, Etiquette Now
