Help! The wedding is in 3 days and my bridesmaid dress doesn't fit.
Like all good bridesmaids, most of us ordered a larger dress and knew we would have to get it altered (they never fit the first time!). I went in a few weeks ago and the woman said that I had plenty of time. She made her marks and I left the shop feeling confident that my dress was in good hands - after dropping another $125 on a $150 dress. We made an appointment for me to come try on the dress this week to allow for enough time for any changes that needed to be made.
I went in tonight with exactly the same undergarments on that I had when I had been fitted for the dress the first time - the same things that I plan to wear for the wedding (bra, body slimmer, etc.). The dress now needs another 4-5 inches to zip up in the back! The woman there said that I must have gained a lot of weight... I did not gain 4-5 inches around in the past 3 weeks!
I am going back in tomorrow morning to speak with the woman who has been working on the dress.
Can this be salvaged?
A friend of mine, who is a 14-wedding bridesmaid veteran said that this has happened to her before and they ended up taking some of the length to add to the back. Trouble is that mine is a floor length dress that she already took up, so I don't think there is much more to do there!
Help!

Is there a possibility that you have been given one of the other bridesmaids dresses? Get the shop owner involved as well as the seamstress. They have to do something to make it right. Nancy Tucker President of Weddings Beautiful US http://www.weddingsbeautiful.com
