     Navy Blue Bridesmaids Dresses

I had 2 choices for the month to have my wedding (October and May). My original bridesmaid dress color choice was navy blue. We have set our wedding date as May 28, 2006 (Memorial Day Weekend). Could I still have Navy as the Bridesmaid's Dress color? I know that blue is a neutral color but it is also a bit dark for a Spring wedding.

I don't want to look like I am having a patriotic wedding with red, white, and blue. What color choices seem to be the most popular? Another color that I seem to be leaning toward is silver or black.

As the bride, you have the most say on what goes on when planning your special day. Yes, navy is a dark color, but it doesn't mean that you can't have your bridesmaids wear it. Navy also happens to be a classic color which makes it appropriate for any season.

The only way guests would think that your wedding was a patriotic theme was if the bridesmaids were in navy, you in white and the accent color was red. Which I know you wouldn't do that. My suggestion to make your wedding lighten up (color wise) is to have your accent color as a light silver. Silver and navy look great together. Plus silver will brighten things up and not make your color scheme look too heavy.

Have fun planning!
