OK for MOH to have different color & style dress?

The bride has her 17 year old sister (who has had a rough couple years) as MOH. Bride wants MOH to feel special and chose a different color & style dress than the other bridesmaids. Five will be in mauve, strapless, tea-length dresses. MOH will be in a chocolate dress with thin straps, tea-length in front & tapers off almost to the floor in the back. Groomsmen will be in brown suits. Bride & groom will be in ivory. Bride was happy until someone said it would look funny. I say whatever bride wants... Do you think this is okay? What about pictures?

Mauve and brown coordinate well, no worries there, but, brown suits? I'm not a big fan of brown suits. But, you didn;t ask about that. Wink

Is there anything actually wrong with brown suits or is your dislike just your personal opinion? The bride saw your reply and is second-guessing her decision. Too much $$$ has been spent to change now and we are on a very tight budget. Thank you.

If you cannot change suit colors then don't worry about it. The issue is more with suits in business then in this type of setting.
