     Open toe shoes for bridesmaids.

My wedding is in August, and I was having problems deciding on open or closed toe shoes. Open toe shoes would probably work well, as it is an outdoor ceremony. Then again, closed-toe seem to be more comfortable most of the time(no flip flops or sandals are going to be allowed).

The reception is going to be indoors. My shoes are close toed. Do the bridesmaids need to match?

Thank you in advance for the help!

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! Your wedding is a Summer one, so that allows for the open-toe shoes for your bridesmaids. On the other hand, the reception takes place indoors, so the close-toed shoes would make more sense. You still can go both ways for your bridal party, but since the close-toed shoes are 1) more comfortable and 2) the reception takes place indoors, why not take "the easy way out"? Enjoy the wedding!
