I am having a beach wedding the last day of May and,instead of a pastel, wanted my maid of honour (i won't have any bridesmaids - just her) to have a silver dress. I even found a perfect one by alfred sung but then my Mom said it would wash out in the photographs and wouldn't let the bride stand out. Any advice on this is greatly appreciated! Thanks

A lot depends on reflectiveness of the silver fabric. If it's highly reflective, I would agree with your Mom and suggest to avoid it. You did not mention the color of your dress - white, off-white, ivory - try to add a bit more contrast into your Maid of Honor's outfit to let your dress stand out more. Enjoy the wedding!
