What style bridesmaid dress would be appropriate?

I am going to be a bridesmaid (bridesmatron?) in my sister's wedding in November. She is being really great about letting us choose separates in one color that should suit our body types. My sister is 25. Her other bridesmaids are the same age. I am 36 and have given birth to twins. My body is NOTHING like the other bridesmaids'. I want to have a good idea of what will look good on me before I go and try anything on (since I will probably have to take my sons with me-they are 5 and won't sit still for long).

I am a plus sized woman. Size 22-24. I am busty, have an undefined waist(large) and relatively narrow hips (hip measurement same as waist, basically). I was leaning towards a halter style top that would create a V-neck, and an A-line skirt (alfred angelo separates are what my sister is leaning towards). Any suggestions on what will suit my body type? (I will wear a wrap to help camouflage my upper arms)

I just don't want to look like the "old lady" in the bridal party (even though I am!)

You're far from an "old lady"! Smile

It is very considerate of your sister to allow the ladies to select their own styles.

The best styles for your body type would be the a-line dress which flows down from the shoulders and is most flattering for a plus size figure or the empire waist dress which is fitted only along the bustline and then flows down from there.

Be careful about the neckline and showing too much cleveage. You'll want to be comfortable (not tugging at the dress) and you won't want to detract from the bride.
