I was wondering if you could be of assistance. I am getting married in a couple of months, and am in the process of planning with my fiance. My fiance tends to be a staunch traditionalist, and wishes all in the wedding party to fully dress. However, there is a slight problem. For those in the wedding party, my fiance wishes all of the men and ladies to have a pair of gloves. (It may seem unusual, however, dress gloves are 'de rigueur' for him daily, and he owns many pairs himself). He has already commissioned Chester Jefferies in England to make 10 pairs of grey classic kidskin gloves for the groomsmen, and a pair of elbow-length button-up style white gloves for me. However, I believe he has forgotten about the bridesmaids. I would not think to ask him since he has already spent a fortune. Yet, since I would like to have my bridesmaids wear gloves similar to mine, where should I go? The gloves that he purchased are beautiful, but I’m not sure that I have this kind of money to purchase overseas. If you could help, please tell me where else I would find these Victorian style gloves.
Thank you for all of your assistance,
Regards,
Anne D.

None of our experts are from the UK so I'm afraid we wouldn't be able to help you with finding these bridesmaids' gloves in your location. Have you tried the online shops, Ebay UK or UK Top Wedding Sites?
You could ask your fiance where he purchased your gloves (in passing) and then purcahse the same for your bridesmaids or just be honest and tell him you'll foot the bill.

Good afternoon,
Many thanks for the reply. I do not reside in Great Britain, however, my fiance is English was raised by his family on strict formality. As a result, he always tends to be disappointed when these things, (such as handsewn gloves and other fashions of the past), are so difficult to find. He frequently orders his own gloves from Chester Jefferies, and therefore chose this option for our wedding. I'm afraid that I will have to order the kidskin bridesmaids' gloves from the same location if I cannot find them elsewhere. Places such as Ebay.com would be fine, however I need around 8 nearly identical pairs, so I've had no success.
