     Winter Bridesmaids Dress fabrics

I am having my wedding on a Friday evening at the end of January. It is going to be a fairly formal event. We are holding the ceremony in a place of worship. My dress has a lace top and a taffeta shirt. Would it be okay to put my bridesmaids in a floor length chiffon dress or would it be better to put them in a taffeta dress? I don't know if it will look all right to have that many different fabrics.

My dress is a diamond white and I want to put the bridesmaids in a champagne color and have them carry deep red roses. I had thought about switching it and have the Bridesmaids in a deep red color and have them carry ivory/champagne flowers. However, our church already has red carpet and red pews and I don't want them to blend in with the decor :) But with the champagne dresses, I'm worried about what kind of a contrast I'm going to get in my pictures with them standing beside my white dress. Do you think the champagne dresses with red roses are my better choice?

Thank you once again for your advice!

Fabric: You can choose either fabric, but taffeta would look much nicer.

Color: Since the church has red carpet, you don't want your bridesmaids dresses to blend too much into the surrounding decor. Champagne dresses with red roses is a far better choice. However, since you are not sure if you get enough contrast in color against your dress, why not put them in deeper shade of a warm color, such as Taupe, Bronze or Gold? A couple of shades deeper will create just enough color contrast against your dress, while keeping your bridesmaids in the same "family of colors" that you envisioned originally. Discuss the issue with the experts from the bridal salon, look at the swatches, and you are guaranteed to arrive to a right desicion! Enjoy the wedding!
