If the bridesmaid are in black satin, strapless long gowns what is the appropriate time for the actual wedding?

Dear Daisytrue,

It really depend on the formality of all of the gowns. Black is no longer a night time color. So, if these gowns are very formal, then you may want to begin after 5 or 6 pm. But, some formal weddings are held during the day, especially Catholic weddings. So, there is wiggle room.

If your gown has a long train and formal veil, then a wedding held after 5/6 is best. Your gown speaks the loudest.

Also, if you want your groomsmen to wear tuxes, it is best to begin after 5.

Best wishes,
