bride will not let me wear maternity bridesmaid gown
I was asked to be in my husband's friend's wedding last summer. I excepted. This past December I became pregnant. I offered to bow out. I was told it was no problem and we would work around it (I will be 7 months pregnant when they get married). I will not be able to fit into the form fitting gown that was selected. The bride feels maternity bridesmaid dresses are out of the question. She feels it could be altered. I can't afford all the alterations. Is it rude to back out if I can't get the gown around my belly? Please help!

If the only issue is truly the dress then speak to the bride. Let her know that you cannot afford the alterations and see what the two of you can decide. However, if you're looking for a way out because you no longer want the role, then speak up. Top Wedding Questions Forum Moderator - "Write your sorrows in the sand, your blessings in stone".
