     bridesmaids choose own dresses

I have been in countless weddings and the bridesmaids dresses have always been unflattering to my body type and uncomfortable. We want to have a casual, outdoor wedding and I was thinking of picking a color and letting my bridesmaids find their own casual dress that is comfortable for them in that color. Would that look too odd or jumbled? We were going to have the groomsmen wear a matching color button down and slacks. Opinion?

I always advise the bride to select a few styles in the same color, fabric and pattern and allow each woman to select a style that suits her body type. Otherwise, as you will read in many of our past posts, you could have bridesmaids with dresses that are not to your liking or maybe even too formal or not covering enough skin.
