A friend of mine has chosen very beautiful colors for her wedding but they are impossible! Her colors are cream, bronze and teal. The cream and bronze as her dominant colors and the teal as accent. She doesn't know what to do about the wedding party's attire. She has enlisted me to brainstorm with her and I am thinking light brown instead of bronze since it will be so hard to find anything in bronze. Mainly a mens suit. I have suggested a light brown suit with a bronze vest, a shiny teal tie with a teal shirt and a teal hankie in the pocket of the blazer. The possibilities are endless with the brides maids so we are not worried about them just yet. Any other ideas that won't be so hard to find?
There is no need to match the groomsmen's attire to the bridesmaids colors. Definitely not brown suits for the groomsmen. Do a search on this site to read what we have said in other posts about brown suits.
I would suggest black suits. Black is a classic and goes well with everything. Top Wedding Questions Forum Moderator - "Write your sorrows in the sand, your blessings in stone".
I also suggested black as have others that she has talked to but she is pretty stubborn on the bronze. She wants the groomsmen to all wear bronze suits but I suggested brown as an alternative because bronze is not a traditional color for a suit and she absolutely doesn't want black. I think this is something I will have to talk her into.
Why don't you suggest that she discuss this with the groom and his groomsmen. I have not yet met a man willing to wear, or buy, a brown suit. Check out some of other posts on brown suits. Here is one, for example.
This decision really should be made by the couple, not the bride alone. The groom will be the person who has to wear the suit. Top Wedding Questions Forum Moderator - "Write your sorrows in the sand, your blessings in stone".
The groom will be wearing cream with a bronze vest if it were up to her. She doesn't care what the others think as long as they wear what she wants them to wear. I will send her a link to the post you linked me to in your last reply. We'll see if we can't get her to change her mind on the black.
Remind her that white and ivory are for warmer months or destination weddings and beach weddings.
I doubt she'll even find a brown suit - I assume you mean suit and not tux, although you haven't mentioned the time fo say or the formality oif the wedding. Top Wedding Questions Forum Moderator - "Write your sorrows in the sand, your blessings in stone".
Why don't you get her a copy of the new book Emily Post's Weddings? That will give her all the information she'll need for modern wedding planning. Good luck! Top Wedding Questions Forum Moderator - "Write your sorrows in the sand, your blessings in stone".

Thank you. I have sent her a link to the book and suggested that she let the guys wear black. I told her that the girls and guys do not have to match which is what I think she was most concerned about.
I hope she gets the book and I will just be there for whatever she needs me for. I should be in the wedding for this! Ha! Just joking!
You are a wonderful friend. I'm sure she appreciates you. Top Wedding Questions Forum Moderator - "Write your sorrows in the sand, your blessings in stone".
