Flower Girl Dresses match bidesmaids or bride?

Some people tell me that the flower girls dress should match the bridesmaids. But I also read that they should match the design of the bride. Which one is correct?

Thanks a bunch

Dear Emartin,

The dresses could have elements of the bride's dress such as the same sleeves, but in a floral print. But, these dresses could also be party dresses. So, it is the bride's choice.

Best wishes,

I totally agree with Rebecca. The flower girls dress should also match the formality of the bride's attire. If the bride is wearing tea length then the flower girl should not be in floor length.
