Leave The Flowergirl and Ring Bearer out of a wedding?

I am beging to think that, because of my religion, the flowergirl can only carry a flowerball, (no petals are premitted in the sanctuary) and since the ring bearer doesn't really have our rings would it be okay to skip this flowergirl and ring bearer altogether? We will not be using the aisle for the flower petals either and I am just curious if it would be right to leave the children completely out of the wedding. After all, most of the members are either to young and cranky or to old for this part anyway.

Dear Cassie:

There is no rule that says you must have a flower girl or ring berer in your wedding party.

Depending on the formality of your wedding the following applies:

Formal: Between 4 and 10 attendants.

Semiformal: Between 2 to 6 attendants.

Informal: 1 to 3 attendants.

The style of formality is implied but the location and time of your wedding.
