     Black dress for MOG

My son is getting married in November at 7pm - very formal affair. Mob is wearing silver or gold. Her dress is picked out but I'm not sure of the color. Bride's dress is ivory & taupe. The bridal party is wearing chocolate & cream. Groomsmen in black tuxes / cream. I found a dress by Jovani that flatters my figure. I tried it on in black and it was stunning! Should the mother of the groom dare to wear black? My old fashioned mother says no. I am a Blonde with Hazel eyes and fair skin. My son will be in all black with an ivory tie. The dress is very expensive $1100.00 I don't want to make a mistake! The following colors are available black, coral, ivory, lt.blue, emerald and cocoa. Which color should I choose?

Bride and Mob were with me when I tried it on and they both loved it.

thanks for your help!

Black is no longer taboo and as long as the bride is approving you should be fine coordinating with the mother of the bride. Remember that the mother of the groom should wait for the mother of the bride to select her dress first and then coordinate with her and the bridesmaids.
