Bride wearing white, MOG wearing ivory

Hello Ladies, I hope you can help me. I am the MOG. The bride is wearing white, the bridesmaids are wearing pink, and the MOB is wearing a different shade of pink. I picked out a gold/ivory jacquard suit (skirt and jacket). Is it appropriate to wear the ivory color? Thank you for your advice. Kate

Dear Kate, congratulations on your son's wedding. Ivory is a little bit too light a color. Try to get the same outfit in a different shade: almost everything would go with pink: seafoam, light blue, all shades of yellow, light beige and taupe. Enjoy the wedding!

I do have an issue with the ivory suit. It very well could look like attire a bride could wear. So, it is best to avoid it.

Please do not wear an outfit that is more formal than the MOB. And please choose a top that is not revealing.
