Is it unheard of for the MOB & MOG to wear the same dress color as long as the dress is not the same style?

They really shouldn't wear the same, exact color. But, these rules are relaxing a bit, especially when it applies to the color black. Many brides prefer all of the women in the bridal party, including mothers to wear black. And, if this is an informal wedding, you have greater wiggle room with the rules.
So, use your best judgment. The mothers shouldn't appear to be bridesmaids.
