     Dilema for MOB dress

My daughter's wedding is at 2pm on May 14th in a small chapel. I've tried to find a dress for months and am finding that very little is available off the rack that fits. My budget doesn't allow for custom made apparel, so that's out. The bridesmaid's dresses are pale pink and periwinkle tea length. I've found a very pretty turquoise dressy top with a rhinestone clasp on one side for myself, which would look really nice with a either a tea length or floor length black skirt. The MOG bought a dress earlier in the year, then took it back. I have no idea what she'll end up with. She had chosen a long, sage colored dress originally, so I was avoiding shades of green. Does my color scheme idea sound too bold? I felt that I needed a dress in at least a tea length, but I've found nothing that fits in a flattering color that isn't the same color as the bridesmaid's dresses.

Dear MOB,

With the bridesmaid dresses in pale pink, turquoise will add vibrance and festivity to the color scheme. Since the colors are at the opposite end of the color wheel they will compliment eachother. Plus if the MOG gets a dress in a shade of green, the turquoise top will compliment hers.

I have also a color suggestion for the skirt you are going to pair with the turquoise top. You already know that black matches everything, which is a good choice. You can also wear a lighter shade of turquoise. As long as the skirt is in the same color tone as the top, but lighter, it will be a soft contrast and great color combination. Have fun at your daughter's wedding!

Good luck,
