Dress for wedding with spaghetti strap and shawl for stepmother
MOB is suppose to cover the shoulders. So, is a dress with spaghetti strap and shawl acceptable for stepmom? MOB is wearing a tank style with a jacket.

As long as the shawl covers the shoulders, you are fine. Etiquette calls for modesty in this situation, so if there is no option for a bit more conservative dress - for example, same style top but with bolero jacket - as long as the shawl stays in place you are "covered".
