Father of Groom not in Wedding Party

Hello,

I have looked thru the posts and haven't found this situation:

MOB & FOB are paying for the wedding and reception. FOG and MOG are divorced and both remarried and do not speak. Not sure if MOG is in wedding or not and not sure what the colors are for the wedding. FOG is not in the wedding party. What should he wear?

Dear Mary,

He should ask the groom if he is to dress as all the other men in the wedding party. Even if he doesn't have a role, he may want his father to dress up. If not, he would dress as one of the guests, most likely in a suit.

Best wishes,
