     Groom's Mother's dress

My son is getting married in June. The bridesmaids have red dresses, the MOB has a solid light blue dress. I have red hair and don't wear red clothes. Do I need to have something with blue in it to compliment the MOB, or could I wear light green? Also, must I wear a solid color, or would a floral look ok?

Thanks!

Dear mattsmom:

Whatever it is you choose to wear, just make sure it compliments the bridal party's ensemble.
It doesn't necessarily have to be a solid color, but if you choose a dress with floral patterns, make sure it doesn't clash too much with the MOB or the rest of the bridal party.

A nice contrast to red is a cream/beige color, and maybe you can add a little bit of red to it by wearing a red shawl or red jewelry.

Dear Matts Mom,

Here are some color combinations that fall in the red tones category. Any of these colors other than the red will compliment the bridal part look. Also ask the bride for her suggestion if your concerned with the color combination you wish to wear.

Colors that compliment red:

burgundy, chocolate, gold, red, taupe,

Hope this helps.
