Daughters wedding late September, evening outdoor ceremony. Attendants in black dresses, varied lengths. Male attendants in black tux. Brides bouquet white with red rose accents. Girls flowers all red roses. Would my wearing a floor length red dress be appropriate?

It is advisable that red should be avoided by mothers of the bride and groom. You can, however, use burgundy or any "wine" color, which will look very elegant with the colors you have described. Enjoy the wedding! Irina Feygin, IMpeccable iMage, Inc. Image and Beauty and For Princess Bride

Yes, red should never be worn to a wedding by mothers or guests since the color is so vibrant it is said to distract from the attention on the bride. However, bride's will sometimes choose red for their attendants, which is fine if they have selected it.
I think gold is a nice coordinating color, however, it doesn't look well on every skin tone. Please consider your skin color when making your dress purchase. Top Wedding Questions Forum Moderator - "Write your sorrows in the sand, your blessings in stone".

I completely agree. Red is the taboo color. Rebecca Black, Etiquette Now
