Ivory and Champagne Mother of Bride/Mother of Groom Dress
My daughter is getting married in July at a 6PM wedding with sit down dinner to follow. Her colors are ivory and champagne. The MOG and I don't want to stand out in the pictures. What colors would be best? She has dark hair and skin will be tan. I have brown hair and hope to be tanned. MOG is tall, medium build and MOB is petite. We will both wear floor length dresses but we are concerned about colors and style. We both are only in our late 40's - early 50's and dont want traditional MOB dresses.

Dear Dawncall,
I can't comment on the color, except to say that most colors would blend just fine. Red is a no-no as is anything too bright. Your dresses should not be more formal than the attendants' and should not appear to be a bridesmaid's dress. The dresses should be conservative, so no sleeveless gowns.

I totally agree: indeed, almost any color would blend with ivory and champagne. Since you don't want to stand out in the pictures, the colors you chose should be subdued and light in tone. You can try butter yellow, sage, powder blue, light peach - all these colors would blend well with the colors of the wedding. Irina Feygin, IMpeccable iMage, Inc. You should also consider that you don't want to match the bridesmaids - just coordinate with them, so please think about what they will be wearing before you make your selection. Top Wedding Questions Forum Moderator - "Write your sorrows in the sand, your blessings in stone".
