Length & color dress for MOB/Navy bridesmaids

My daughter is getting married first weekend of September. The wedding is outdoors at 4 p.m. at a country club, with dinner reception following indoors. Daughter is wearing ivory bridal gown with train. Bridesmaids are wearing silk midnight blue (navy) dresses tea length. Groom, groomsmen and my husband will be in tuxedos. Wedding colors also include Celedon green. I’m just over 50, fair skinned, blond hair, size 8. I would prefer a dress with a jacket, maybe bolero, as I get easily chilled. MOG would prefer a long dress, as she doesn’t like to show her legs. I have no preference and daughter is ok with any length we decide on. What length of dress and color would look best?

The bolero jacket is an excellent idea! It adds a touch of elegance to the outfit of any length. It usually looks fantastic in photos, so this is a wonderful idea. Since your dress should be the same formality as the MOG dress, and since you have no length preference, and considering it's an evening wedding, a long dress would be fine. Color-wise, you should select what's most flattering to your skin tone and hair color. Maybe light lilac? Irredecent lilac? This color would look good with both navy blue and celadon. Or, you can go the opposite way and wear a warm colors, such as taupe, or light bronze. It will also look good. Since your major decisions regarding style and length are easy, you can take your time selecting the most flattering color for yourself. Enjoy the wedding!
