My stepdaughter is getting married and wants the mother of the bride, mother of the groom and me to wear red, which happens to be the same color as the bridesmaid. It is a winter wedding and she said we could wear black pants and a red sweater/top. It is an informal wedding, but won't we fit in with the guest?

Normally, mothers wouldn't dress too similarly or in the same exact colors as the bridesmaids. But, if this is an informal wedding and the bride wishes all of the mothers to dress alike, then it is fine. The outfits are conservative, so there isn't a problem there.
