Bridesmaids dresses are clover (a spring green) with cream/yellow flowers; bride is also considering sunflowers. I was planning to look for gold, champagne, or beige for my dress - I do not look good in pastel colors but I am open to suggestions. I am a younger MOB (40) and a curvy size 18 which limits my choices. I have found 2 nice dresses in my size that flatter my figure and do not seem too "matronly", but both are in brown. One can be ordered in champagne. The browns coordinate with the clover color nicely, but I think MOG will choose a pastel hue and I will stand out in the brown. The ladies at the boutique insist that brown is appropriate all year round. HELP!

If there is any chance of the dress to be ordered in champagne, go for it! Brown is way too dark with the colors you describe and will really stand out! Champagne seems a natural and beautiful choice for a dress, which will blend extremely well with the colors you describe. Go for it! Irina Feygin, IMpeccable iMage, Inc. Plus, please remember that as a mother, your dress should be conservative--no strapless dresses. Rebecca Black, Etiquette Now
