MOB Dress - Black?

My daughter is having a formal wedding at night in December. Her colors are silver, red, and black. The wedding party is in red. Is it ok for the MOB to wear black? If not what color would you suggest?

The evening time wedding suggest more formality. Black dress for Mother of the Bride is totally acceptable; more: black color becomes more and more popular for evening weddings! Enjoy!
