MOB and Stepmother of the bride want same color dress.
Hi, my wedding is in August. My mother is wearing an ivory dress (she is also walking me down the aisle). My stepmom asked me if it is ok if she get an ivory dress too. They despise each other, so how do I tell my stepmom that my mother is already wearing that color without hurting feelings?

Most of the time the stepmom dresses like a guest unless she is being treated as one of the moms. In either case, the stepmom should never match or outshine the mother of the bride. So, simply let your stepmom know that your mother has already chosen ivory and she should select a color that would be complimentary, but not matching. Blame it on etiquette! The MOB always chooses first, unless your stepmom raised you and plays a larger role in your life. I'm sensing that is not the case with you since your mother is walking you down the aisle.
