MOB wearing mauve, MOG wearing midnight blue

My son is getting married in September. The bride is wearing white and the bridesmaids are wearing watermelon pink. The MOB is wearing mauve. I found a midnight blue dress with a bolero jacket that I love. Is it too dark? If so, what other colors can I go with? Thank you.

Congratulations on your son's wedding! I would recommend you go for a bit lighter tones; such as bronze or pewter. Usually, these colors have some irredescent touch to them and they look lovely. Also, both shaded would go great with watermelon pink and mauve. Enjoy the wedding!

And, please remember to dress conservatively. The jacket is an excellent idea, but be careful with showing too much cleavage. Also, your attire shouldn't be more formal than the MOB.
