MOG Dress for Informal Afternoon Wedding

I am Mother of the Groom for an afternoon small wedding. The couple are having no attendants but want a church wedding. Mother of the bride is wearing black pants with chiffon over them with a dressy black and white jacket. The bride is wearing white with tiny crimson roses on the bodice. I'm having a hard time finding something appropriate. I have a tea length champagne color dress or a pink knee length that has a jacket and rhinestone buttons. Is one appropriate or could you suggest something?

The tea-length champagne dress sounds like a better option since rhinestones and glitter are reserved for formal, evening weddings. However, length is not the only determining factor for level of formality. You'll have to look at the fabric and style of the champagne dress before deciding.

I completely agree! Champagne color would be an excellent choice as opposed to pink, if you take the entire color scheme into consideration. I also completely agree that rhinestones are better left out this time. Enjoy the wedding!

I completely agree. But, be careful that you are not dressed more formally than the mother of the bride. It sounds like you just may be fine.
