MOG Dress same color as Brides

My mother has bought a White Dress with a White Jacket and my future wife is wearing a White Dress. The bridesmaids are wearing black and the MOB is wearing a mauve or pink color. I would think that it is up to the bride if it is ok that wear white but wha is the etiquette?

Dear Mkohler,

It isn't frowned upon any more for guests to wear white. But, for a mother to wear it, it shouldn't be exactly white. Also, the main point is that the attire shouldn't appear to be even close to what someone would wear as a wedding outfit. Your mother's outfit may not be appropriate, as it sounds like something one could wear as a bride.

It would be best if she wore a different color. She is supposed to coordinate with the MOB.

Best wishes,
