Bridesmaids wearing short pink dresses, Maid of Honor and MOB wearing long dresses. MOB probably wearing a light color. I've mentioned that pale colors wash me out- I've got silvery salt & pepper hair. Bride keeps telling me to wear whatever I want because her mom may still be looking in September. Wedding dress is simple but elegant ivory. I know the rules about complimenting the bridal party, but I'm getting conflicting advice re: length, colors and what constitutes too fancy. Please help.
Congratulations on your son's wedding! Your dress should be the same length and formality as MOB. As to the color, the etiquette dictates that MOB selects her color first, then MOG selects her color to complement MOB's dress. So, it looks like you have to wait until September or earlier, when MOB selects her dress, to make your move!
