MOG and MOB Dress colors clash

I just found out tonight that the MOB is wearing a Prarie Style Dress in pink checks w/green lace-length is long. The wedding is two weeks from today at 3pm in a Garden setting. I bought my dress before the MOB. t's just past the knee, black w/a taupe sash at the bodice, very classic. The bride's dress is creme, earthy, red/maroon color. Groom and Best Man are wearing black suits. My son says he's doesn't care what I wear. Do you think the mother of the bride and mother of the groom will clash? What should we do?

Dear MOG,

It is considered impolite for the MOG to dress more formally than the mother of the bride. You were to coordinate with her. She was to purchase her dress first. You should be speaking with the mother of the bride and bride about this. Your dress seems much more formal than the mother of the bride's dress. But, perhaps it isn't once you see it.

I would suggest getting together with them or asking for a picture soon. You may have to purchase a different dress.

Best wishes,
