MOG dress for black and white evening wedding

I am the MOG. The bride is wearing white, bridesmaids black with no color accent or trim, the MOB is wearing floor-length pewter satin with 2-inch straps over shoulders. What do I wear? I'm heavier than her, and would feel more comfortable in pants, but don't know what color (black, white, pewter, gray, silver, all make me look dead. I'm auburn hair and blue eyes.)
This site is unbelievably helpful. Thanks.

Dear Judith,

Pants probably wouldn't be in the same formality as the wedding, unless they were very formal. This is the key. Your attire should be in the same formality as the mother of the bride, without being more formal. Perhaps if you chose separates with a jacket. That is usually very slimming.

Most colors blend with pewter and black. Just stay away from red or anything very bright. Champagne might be a very good choice, but I'm not the fashion expert. Wink

Best wishes,

You can go for champagne, and you can also go for navy blue or dark blue, which would look great with the color combination you describe and will compliment your eye color at the same time. Add a touch more blush and enjoy the wedding! You will look fantastic!
