     MOG dress ideas

My son and his fiance have decided to get married on the beach in Hawaii. I have no clue as to what would be an appropriate attire for me (mother) or my husband (step father). Help - Bride is leaving most of the arrangements to the wedding planner so I don't even have an idea of colors. He and She are only having one attendant each.

ideas would be welcome. wedding will be in June -

Dear MOG,

Beach weddings are beautiful and intimate. Your dress will need to match the atmosphere. First, I would contact the bride and wedding planner. Find out what kind of dress the bride has in mind, and what colors scheme they are going with. You don't want to use the exact colors, just compliment them. Staying on the topic of colors, peach, champagne, lavendar, pale blue, sage, and soft pink are the most popular for spring/summer 2005. Keep them in mind when shopping for a dress, because they will be perfect for a beach wedding.

As for the style dress, you should stay simple. A light flowy material would be the most appropriate look. I would suggest a tea length dress. They just seem to be the most beachy and perfect for weddings. Accessorizing your look is the most important part. Pearls would be a great touch, and perfect for the beach. Not traditional pearls, but a more modern twist. Ones with unusual shapes and colored accents that are a brighter shade of pale. Like a multi-strand bracelet and/or necklace, even drop earrings with pearl clusters.

As for your husband, he can wear a light weight summer suit. A light shade of tan would look best. He can even wear a linen suit (jacket optional). Have fun at the shopping. The wedding is going to be beautiful.

Good luck,
