My son's wedding is late August, evening, outside. Bride is wearing stapless white formal gown. Bridesmaids will wear tea length halter dresses in "victorian lilac" (a dusky lavender). Wedding colors are lavender and silver. MOB is wearing 2-piece sleeveless, knee length dress in periwinkle. Can I wear aqua blue sleeveless knee-length dress with LS jacket? Jacket has muted floral pattern. I have been concerned that it is less formal than the bridesmaid dresses, but after reading other answers I am thinking it will coordinate well with what I hear the MOB is wearing.

I'm not a color expert, but as long as your blue doesn't appear to be the same color and it blends as the MOB's dress and it isn't more formal than hers it should be alright.
