My love's folks are divorced and both on fixed incomes. We told his dad that we would rent a tux for him and he was thrilled. His mother is one that always wears her purple spray painted cowboy hat everywhere. This is a formal, yet outdoor ceremony/reception. How do we nicely insist that she doesn't wear this hat. (and yes, I did say purple spray painted cow boy hat!)

Re: [Bj in WI] MOG wearing cowboy hat

Dear Bj in WI,
It is best if her son discusses this with her. He could remind her that he loves her individuality, but this occasion is more formal and he would like her to leave the hat at home.
